    • Served as Product Owner for Dell Figma accounts, managing access and redesigning the home page and dashboard to enhance usability. Improved visual appeal through better contrast, object placement, and layout while assisting teams with access and workspace setup.

    • Contributed to the planning and production of tutorial videos for agile designers at Dell, brainstorming music, video concepts, series branding, and engagement strategies. 

      • Edited videos in Adobe Premiere Pro to create engaging content that effectively guided users in utilizing JIRA for streamlined project management and workflow processes

    • Developed a responsive website for Dell’s Digital Design newsletter, improving accessibility and engagement for the team.

    • Designed icons, Zoom backgrounds, and standees (virtual and in-person) for Dell’s Experience Design Summit (XD Summit), reinforcing brand identity with the theme "Aspiring to Design for Tomorrow within Emerging Technology.

    • Maintained and edited the Product Design in Action SharePoint page, enabling Dell Digital Design (DDD) members to upload and showcase case studies highlighting impactful product design outcomes.

    • Gathered and analyzed usage data across Microsoft Teams channels at Dell, including member counts, engagement levels, and active participation over 30-, 60-, and 90-day periods to assess channel relevance.

      • Used these insights to support decisions on which channels to retain or archive, contributing to a cleaner, more efficient digital communication environment.

Built a simple command-line Tic Tac Toe game, handling two-player turns, input validation, and winner detection. Designed the game to be interactive and user-friendly with clear board updates and error handling.

Star Chase

Designed and developed a 10-level maze-based video game set in outer space, where players navigate as the main character to collect stars as quickly as possible while avoiding aliens and other obstacles.

NSBE Leadership

“The mission of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.

First-Year Representative

  • As Freshman Representative, I focused on getting more underclassmen involved in NSBE and keeping them engaged throughout the year.

    • Encouraged freshmen to attend weekly study halls and bi-weekly networking events, helping them connect with upperclassmen and build a support system.

    • Helped plan fundraisers, including two FIFA tournaments, which raised money to bring 50 members to the National Convention in Detroit, MI.

Communitiy Outreach Chair

  • As Community Outreach Chair, I focused on building connections between our NSBE chapter, local engineering companies, and the Rochester community to create meaningful opportunities for students.

    • Organized coding workshops for high school students and career-focused sessions for middle schoolers in the Rochester City School District, helping them explore STEM careers and stay on a focused path.

    • Networked with industry professionals and community leaders to create mentorship opportunities and strengthen relationships between NSBE and the local community.

Vice President/Business Manager

  • As Vice President, I stepped in whenever the President was unavailable and helped keep things running smoothly. I also worked behind the scenes to support our members and make sure events and initiatives went as planned.

    As Business Manager, I was responsible for handling our finances, keeping track of every transaction, and making sure we had the funding we needed.

    • Organized logistics for getting members to both the Regional and National Conventions, handling travel, accommodations, and budgeting to make sure as many people could attend as possible.

    • Managed all finances, kept detailed records, and worked closely with department heads to secure funding and ensure everything was properly allocated.

    • Completed the required business management training to effectively oversee the organization's financial operations.

President

  • As NSBE President, I focused on creating opportunities for our members to grow professionally, academically, and as a community. I led meetings, kept the organization running smoothly, and made sure we stayed on track with our mission.

    • Secured $22,000 through department funding and fundraising, which allowed us to bring 25 members to the Regional Convention(Virtual) and 18 to the National Convention(Anaheim, CA).

    • Organized 50+ events throughout the year, including study halls, career-building and professional development workshops, company sessions, fundraisers, and community engagement activities.

Named in memory of a University of Rochester alumna and students in the Higher Education Opportunity Program. This award honors a student who has demonstrated the values and beliefs characteristics of last year’s Senior Charge: “to be open and selfless, support each other with compassion, and never give up on yourself or others.”

Chicago 6 to 50 Fiyahs Award (2022)
